Election season brings a flood of endorsements, and I don't give mine lightly. When a candidate asks for my support, I look hard at two things: whether they have the integrity and leadership to do the job well, and whether they have a strong network to turn to for help and advice.

Most of us have seen the damage a micromanager can do to an organization, and the damage is even greater in government. I look for leaders who see the big picture and think strategically, because you can't lead without a vision and a long-term plan. We need bridge builders, not dividers. We need people who can work with both parties and find ways to make progress together.

Teddy Collins is that leader. He had a vision for a business and built it into a success, leading his employees and growing a profitable company. At the State Capitol, he worked to protect our constitutional rights. He has relationships across state and local government that he can draw on to move his vision, and ours, of a better Colorado forward.
